MEATBALLS:
1 Pound ground turkey or 93/7 lean ground beef
1 Tablespoon coconut aminos
1 Tablespoon milk unsweetened almond or coconut milk
1 Egg beaten
1 1/2 Tablespoon flour or coconut flour
1/2 Teaspoon onion powder
1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
3/4 Teaspoon sea salt
1/4 Teaspoon ground black pepper
SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE:
3/4 Cup Monk Fruit or Splenda brown sugar
1/2 Cup Distilled white or apple cider vinegar
1/4 Cup ketchup
1 Teaspoon garlic salt
1 Tablespoon coconut aminos THICKENER:
1 Tablespoon Tapioca flour
1 1/2 Tablespoon water
Directions:
MEATBALLS:
Preheat oven to 400° F. Grease a baking sheet and set aside
In a small bowl, mix together the dry ingredients and set aside
In a large bowl, mix together the meat, coconut aminos, milk and egg until well combined.
Add the dry ingredients to meat mixture and stir until well
Roll the mixture into 1-2” balls and place on prepared sheet.
Bake into the oven for 10-15 minutes until tops are browned.
SAUCE AND PUTTING TOGETHER:
In a small bowl, whisk together the sauce ingredients and transfer the baked meatballs into a pot and pour sauce over them. Cook on medium heat until sauce begins to bubble, stirring every 3 minutes.
Mix 1 tablespoon tapioca flour into 1½ tablespoons cold water and add to sauce. Add to pot and mix until smooth. Serve with a carb and a veggie. Serves 6.
