Easy Cabbage Roll Bake

Beef Cabbage Roll Bake is a hearty, comforting dish that takes all the flavors of traditional cabbage rolls and transforms them into an easy, layered casserole. Instead of rolling individual cabbage leaves, this bake simplifies the process by layering seasoned ground beef, tender cabbage, rice, and a rich tomato sauce in a single dish. It’s a perfect meal for busy nights when you want something nourishing, packed with protein and fiber, and full of classic, home-cooked flavor. Whether you're meal-prepping for the week or feeding a hungry crowd, this beef cabbage roll bake delivers warmth and satisfaction with every bite.


Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 onion chopped

  • 1 green pepper chopped

  • 1 head cabbage chopped

  • 1-10 oz can tomato paste

  • 1 cup reduced sodium chicken broth

  • 1 cup marinara

  • 1 cup cooked rice

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • Chopped parsley - optional



Directions:

  1. In a Dutch oven or skillet add olive oil, onions, peppers, and beef and cook until beef browns.

  2. Once beef is cooked, add tomato paste and sauce, cabbage, and broth. Stir well until ingredients are combined. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes.

  3. Add cooked rice and stir. Cook for 5-10 more minutes or until cabbage and veggies are cooked.

  4. Stir in the cheese. Top with chopped parsley and serve.

    Makes 4 servings.
