Ingredients
For the Burger Patties:
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
Cheese slices (optional, for stuffing)
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, etc.
For the Dough:
2 eggs
2 cups plain yogurt
2.5 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking soda
For Homemade Mayo:
1 cup avocado oil or olive oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon vinegar (white or apple cider)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Burger Patties
Mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, and oregano in a bowl until well combined.
Divide the beef into 4-6 portions, shaping each into a flat patty.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
Allow the patties to cool slightly, then place a slice of cheese on top of each.
2. Make the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine yogurt and eggs, stirring until smooth.
Gradually add the flour and baking soda, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead gently on a floured surface until smooth.
Divide the dough into equal portions (one per burger) and roll out each portion into a circle, about 1/4-inch thick.
3. Assemble and Wrap the Burgers
Place each cooked burger patty with cheese onto the center of a rolled-out dough circle.
Fold the dough around the burger, sealing the edges completely to form a smooth ball.
Wrap the dough-wrapped burger in parchment paper to maintain its shape.
4. Bake the Stuffed Burgers
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the parchment-wrapped burgers on a baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Let cool slightly before serving.
5. Prepare the Homemade Mayo
In a tall jar or mixing container, combine the eggs, dry mustard, lemon juice, and vinegar.
Using an immersion blender (or food processor), slowly drizzle in the oil while blending continuously. Blend until the mixture emulsifies and thickens.
Season with salt to taste. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
6. Add Toppings and Serve
Slice the stuffed burgers in half or serve whole.
Add your favorite burger toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions.
Spread the homemade mayo on top for a rich, creamy finish.
Enjoy your unique stuffed burgers wrapped in golden dough!
